Team Biographies

William Healey
Managing Partner and CEO/CIO
William has over 23 years of experience in credit markets globally, the last 12 of which in London. Prior to founding Picus Capital, William spent five years at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was one of the first buy-side managers in Europe to build a dedicated leveraged finance investment platform. At its height, he managed a team of 13 responsible for investing over €1.5 billion in non-investment grade credit markets in Europe. Before MLIM, he worked for JP Morgan Investment Management in New York and London as well as Morgan Guaranty in New York and various locations in Asia. William has a BA degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, graduating with Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Robert Hartmann
Partner and Senior Investment Specialist
Bob has over 26 years of experience in non-investment grade markets globally and has spent the last 19 years based in London. Prior to Picus Capital, Bob ran the high yield sales and trading group at WestLB Panmure where he was also responsible for running a proprietary book of leveraged finance assets. He was one of the founders of the leveraged finance group at DLJ in London and prior to that ran the sales and trading desk for emerging markets at Chase Manhattan Bank in London. Bob has a BA from Connecticut College.

Martin Hornbuckle
Partner and Senior Investment Specialist
Martin has over 14 years of experience in the European non-investment grade markets. Prior to Picus Capital, he was Head of European Credit Strategy for two years at Royal Bank of Scotland. Martin was part of the team that built DLJ's European leveraged finance business, where for five years he was a top-rated TMT analyst and co-head of European leveraged finance research (at DLJ and subsequently CSFB). Previously, Martin spent six years in J.P. Morgan's loan business, in various roles including credit research, loan syndications and as a credit officer. Martin is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has a First Class Degree in Physics from Oxford University.

Matthew Robbins
Investment Specialist
Matt has over 9 years of experience in the City, including the most recent 6 in European non-investment grade credit markets. Prior to Picus Capital, he spent two years as a credit research analyst at Dresdner Kleinwort in London covering issuers of loans, bonds and CDS with a sector focus on industrials, chemicals and packaging. His previous experience includes two years as a credit research analyst at WestLB in London, and four years at the FSA and Bank of England. Matt has a M.A. in Geographical Information Systems and B.Sc.(Hons) Geography from the University of Leeds. He is a CFA charterholder and a former Associate Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
